Upon completion of all of your course requirements, the posting of your degree (if applicable) and earning passing scores on the appropriate licensure/endorsement examinations (if needed), all candidates must apply for their license through the Ohio State Board of Education (SBoE) application portal. First-time users of the ODE application portal must set up an OH|ID account and request a state ID.
The Ohio State Board of Education CORE User Manual provides step-by-step instructions for applying for a teaching credential through the SBoE application portal.
Wright State University will recommend a student for an Ohio educator license or endorsement to an Ohio educator license if the student successfully completes all licensure or endorsement standards and requirements for the desired credential and completes and submits his/her application for the credential using Ohio's CORE portal within 12 months of program completion. You can review the full policy here.
If you are applying for one of the following licenses, you must provide additional documentation:
Sample letter for documenting teaching for administrative credentials (DOCX)
Please submit supporting documentation to cheh-advising@wright.edu.
The College of Health, Education, and Human Services (CHEH) will be notified when you submit your license application via the ODE application portal. Upon verification that you meet the requirements for the credential you have requested, we will approve your online licensure application through the ODE application portal.
You may track the progress of your application through your SBoE OH|ID account.
