PEEPS (Peer Enrichment and Empowerment Program for Success)

About PEEPS

PEEPS is a peer-led mentorship program for nursing students. Our goal is to support nursing intent students and new nursing students through a year-long mentoring program to improve the peer mentee’s self-efficacy, academic performance and stress levels, and to improve peer mentors’ self-concept through training, empowerment, and support.

How to Get Involved

Be a Mentee

PEEPS is a program meant to help new/incoming nursing students. Mentees will be paired with a nursing student in their junior/senior year who can provide support and advice.

By becoming a mentee, you will gain a valuable resource in your mentor, who can provide advice and insight into the nursing program, help you make new friends, and build your support network on campus.

Requirements:

  • Must be a nursing intent/pre-nursing student or just starting the program
  • Respond to your email
  • Be patient/kind

Be a Mentor

PEEPS is a program meant to help new and incoming nursing students. This can't be done without the help of our mentors. Nursing students in NUR 3421 and up are eligible to become PEEPS Mentors.

By becoming a mentor, you will gain fulfillment by helping your peers, gain valuable leadership experience you can add to your resume, and get a cord at graduation!

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in NUR 3421 or up
  • Able to dedicate 1-4 hours/week to help your 'mentee'
  • Respond to your email
  • Be patient/kind
