About

Welcome from the Dean

photo of dean james dennistonThank you for your interest in the College of Health, Education, and Human Services (CHEH) at Wright State University. We hope you are excited about the opportunities and experiences that await you in our programs.

You can pursue undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, minors, and professional certificates and endorsements in our four schools and seven academic departments. While these programs are diverse in scope, you will find one unifying focus—helping you graduate and begin a lifelong career serving others. CHEH helps broaden the definition of “health” by incorporating the health of communities and organizations as well as individuals.

If you are searching for higher education that offers high-impact learning experiences and research opportunities, you will find it in CHEH. For instance, a state-of-the-art simulation lab supports students in our nursing program. Our Office of Partnerships and Field Experiences coordinates field placements for teacher candidates and collaborates with school partners to help provide experiences that benefit both the practicing teachers and their students.

You will benefit from our partnerships with local schools, hospitals, health agencies, and organizations that provide you options for internships, co-ops, student teaching, nursing clinicals, and other real-life work experiences.

Our goal is to get you out into the workforce as quickly as possible with the hands-on experience you need to successfully begin your career. And, you’ll have academic advisors and a career consultant to help guide you on this path from student to professional.

Please schedule a visit to our campus soon. We would love to meet you, answer your questions, and let you see for yourself that CHEH is made up of unique people—all committed to your success.
