Take the Next Step
Finding the right college means finding the right fit. See all that the College of Health, Education, and Human Services has to offer by visiting campus.
For your first semester, here are additional steps in preparation for your timely start at Wright State in Aviation Science and Technology:
You need to present your driver’s license and official United States birth certificate with raised seal or a United States passport for TSA verification purposes.
Wright State’s flight team will verify the documents and return them to you immediately.
Documents can be presented during the interview or at the Aviation orientation prior to the start of the semester.
You must obtain your FAA class 1 medical certificate prior to the start of the semester to be eligible to maintain enrollment in your flight lab and begin flight training.
You can submit a copy of your medical certificate at the aviation orientation or a scanned/emailed copy to aviation@wright.edu.
You must complete and submit BCI and FBI background checks to the School of Aviation office in 270 Millett Hall.
Schedule your background checks early. Processing for electronic fingerprinting may take 5-6 weeks. You may not begin your first flight lab course until the School of Aviation office has current, valid, hardcopy background checks on file.
Electronic fingerprinting is available in 120 Millett Hall at Wright State’s Office of Partnerships and Field Experiences (OPFE) by appointment only during their scheduled open hours. Electronic fingerprinting is also available through many county sheriff offices. Costs vary by location. Schedule an appointment at Wright State.
To schedule an interview, email Craig Castle at craig.castle@wright.edu. Online interviews are available. In-person interviews should be scheduled during office hours, Tuesday/Thursday 2:30-4:30 p.m.
