Test Preparation for Program Admission
Students preparing to become teachers must be admitted to their academic program. Typically, the application process occurs during or before a student's junior year. Each teacher education program includes a different set of admission requirements. You can review program admission requirements by visiting a specific program's webpage. In addition to GPA and particular courses, students must also show competency in reading, math, and writing. Students can show competency through ACT or SAT subject scores. If subject scores do not meet the minimum requirements, students may elect to take the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Subject Tests or the ACT/SAT.If you're unsure whether or not your test scores meet the minimum admission requirements, you are encouraged to consult your academic advisor.
